Restrictions on sea passage for motorized vessels related to the monsoon will be lifted on the 15th, making the port operational. Before freight transportation by sea to Lakshadweep resumes, preparations have been made at the wharf. The ships Marine Line and Maria Mata have already arrived at the port and are beginning to load cargo.

After Cochin Port, Beypore is the port in the state with the most freight traffic. Vessels are subject to a partial travel limitation in Beypore, a non-major port, from May 15 to September 15 in accordance with the Mercantile Marine Act. Ships and other objects are anchored on the shore during this time.

Food items, cooking gas, and other raw supplies were transported to the island by the Lakshadweep Development Corporation’s ships Sagar Samraj, Sagar Yuvraj, Thinnakara, Eli Kalpeni, and Ganga. The remaining ships, which have been repaired, will be at port wharf tomorrow and the day after tomorrow after a four-month break.

The Urukkal voyage to the island will start the following day for the season after the clearance is obtained. Mostly, food, fuel, and cooking gas are shipped from Beypore to Lakshadweep, which is made up of ten inhabited tiny islands. Additionally, products including cement, wire, jelly, salt, and camphor are delivered. From Beypore to Lakshadweep, there are roughly twenty Urukkal services.
