In the economic year 2024–25, the Cochin Port saw outstanding cargo traffic figures. The port handled 37.8 million tonnes of goods during this time. Compared to the 36.3 million tonnes handled in the prior fiscal year, this is a 3.94 percent increase. During the fiscal year 2020–21, the port saw consistent growth, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.04 percent.

During the previous economic year, 1,265 commercial vessels arrived at the port. Petroleum products (6.30 million tonnes), sulfuric acid, crude oil (17.3 million tonnes), and liquid bulk, including LNG and ammonia (1.54 million tonnes). From 1.34 lakh tonnes to 3.64 lakh tonnes, the amount of LPG moved rose.

The port achieved a record in container movement, handling 8,34,665 TEU containers, an increase of 11 percent over the previous financial year.

The Vallarpadam International Container Terminal, operated by DP World, has achieved remarkable growth of 7,000 TEUs per month, the Cochin Port Authority said in a press release.
